School of Law – Admission Process

 

CONTINUING STUDENT
A “continuing student” is a student who is previously enrolled in the university in the immediately preceding semester and is not disqualified to continue his or her law studies in the University. Non-academic reasons for the non-readmission are governed by the Disciplinary rules and regulations of the University. 

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Accomplished Student’s Clearance Form 
(To be secured form from the Registrar’s Office)
Copy of summary of grades 
(For 2nd year and 3rd year law students only)

GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURE FOR ENROLLMENT:
Step 1:          
Accomplish Student’s Personal Data Sheet and enrollment Form for Old Student and submit it to the Dean’s Office together with all the requirements for proper evaluation.
A student who has cumulatively failed in two subjects in violation of the School of Law’s two-failure rule shall be automatically disqualified from continuing his or her law studies in the law school.
Any requirements not submitted during the enrollment in the previous semester(s) must first be satisfied before the student is allowed to enroll for the ensuing semester. At the discretion of the Dean, submission of the lacking requirements may be deferred provided the student shall execute an undertaking to accomplish the lacking requirements before the end of the ensuing semester.
Upon receipt of the duly accomplished enrollment form, the Dean’s Office staff shall review the subjects and schedules plotted by the student to ensure strict compliance with the law school’s policy on pre-requisite subjects.

Step 2:
If the accomplished enrollment Form is in order, proceed to the Students Section of the Accounting Department (located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad) for the assessment of the student’s account.

Step 3:
Proceed to the Cashier(located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad) to pay the enrollment fee.

Step 4:
Proceed to the Electronic Data Processing (EDP) Department (located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad) for the encoding of schedule and the issuance of the corresponding study load.

Step 5:
Proceed to the Library (located at the Third Floor of UC Banilad) for the validation of the student’s existing school identification card.

Step 6:
Submit the accomplished Personal Data Sheet Form at the School of Law Dean’s Office.

CROSS-ENROLLED STUDENT
A “cross-enrolled student” is a student who is fully admitted and enrolled in other law schools and wishes to enroll in the University provided he or she will submit an endorsement from his or her school with a copy of his or her latest grades.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Letter of Intent to Cross-Enroll (LOI)

Permit to Cross-Enroll (from the applicant’s School Registrar)

Insert two pieces 2×2 picture (any background)

GUIDELINES FOR CROSS-ENROLLING
Step 1:            
Proceed to the School of Law Dean’s Office (located at the Mezzanine Floor of UC Banilad) and submit a LOI and a photocopy of the Permit to Cross-enroll (from the applicant’s school registrar) for the Dean’s approval.

Step 2:            
If the LOI is in order and Permit to Cross-Enroll is approved, fill-out the Applicant’s Personal Data Sheet and enrollment Form for Cross-Enrolled Student and submit it together with all the requirements to the Dean’s Office for proper evaluation.

All requirements must be submitted during the enrollment before the applicant is allowed to enroll. At the discretion of the Dean, submission of the lacking requirements may be deferred provided that the applicant shall execute an Undertaking (in the form prescribed by the School of Law) to accomplish the lacking requirements on the agreed date of submission.

Step 6:            
Proceed to the Library (located at the Third Floor of UC Banilad) for the photo capturing and issuance of the school identification card.

Step 7:            
Submit the accomplished Personal Data Sheet Form at the School of Law Dean’s Office.


NEW STUDENT
A “new student” is a college graduate with the appropriate baccalaureate degree and is eligible for admission to study leading to the Juris Doctor degree in accordance with the minimum requirements prescribed by the University and the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Philippine Law School Admission Test (PhiLSAT) Certificate of Eligibility/ Exemption (Law School and LEB Copy)
Original copy of Honorable Dismissal /Transfer Credential
Original copy of Official Transcript of Records (TOR)
Original copy of Good Moral Character (last school attended)
Original copy of the Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
Original copy of the Marriage Certificate with Affidavit of Change of Name (if the married female applicant’s TOR is under her maiden name) issued by the PSA
Insert two pieces 2×2 picture (any background)

GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION
Step 1:            
Proceed to the Registrar’s Office (located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad) with an informative copy of TOR for evaluation of basic subject requirements.

The student must be a graduate of a bachelor’s degree and must have earned the following minimum number of units in their undergraduate course:

English – 18 units
Social Studies –  18 units
Mathematics – 6 units
Rizal – 3 units
(Note: After the evaluation, make sure that the application form is duly signed by the Registrar)

Step 2:            
Proceed to the Cashier (located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad) and pay the “Testing Fee”. Present the application form for eligibility (with attached TOR) for stamping.

Step 3:            
Proceed to the Guidance Office (located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad) for the psychometric exam. Present the official receipt issued by the Cashier and the application form for eligibility (with attached TOR).

Evaluation Schedule

Monday – Saturday      8:30 AM – 12:00 NN

Monday – Friday         2:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Upon special request of at least 5 students
5:00 PM- 9:00 PM

The Psychometric result (usually released the following day) will then be forwarded to the Dean’s Office for further screening.

Proceed to the School of Law Dean’s Office (located at the Mezzanine Floor of UC Banilad) for further evaluation and enrollment proper.

Step 5:

Proceed to the Library (located at the Third Floor of UC Banilad) for the photo capturing and issuance of the school identification card.

Step 10:          
Submit the accomplished Personal Data Sheet Form at the School of Law Dean’s Office.


RETURNEE STUDENT
A “returnee student” is a student who is previously enrolled in the University and after having stopped without enrolling elsewhere or have valid leaves of absence for the period during which they have discontinued their studies, and are not disqualified to continue their law studies in the University. Non-academic reasons for the non-readmission are governed by the Disciplinary rules and regulations of the University. 

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Copy of summary of grades 
(To be secured from the Registrar’s Office)

Accomplished Student’s Clearance Form (To be secured form from the Registrar’s Office)
GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURE FOR RE-ADMISSION AND ENROLLMENT
Step 1:            
Proceed to the School of Law Dean’s Office (located at the Mezzanine Floor of UC Banilad) and submit a copy of the summary of grades requested from the Registrar’s Office.

Step 2:            
Fill-out the enrollment Guidelines Form for returnee student.

Step 3:            
Proceed to the Student Affairs Office (located at the Second Floor of UC Banilad) for verification and clearance.

Step 4:            
Proceed to the Registrar’s Office (located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad)for verification and evaluation of school credentials.

Step 5:            
Proceed to the Students Section of the Accounting Department (located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad) for assessment.

Step 6:            
Go back to the School of Law Dean’s Office for evaluation and enrollment approval.

Step 7:            
Proceed to the Academic’s Office (located at the Mezzanine Floor of UC Banilad) for the final approval by the Campus Director.

Step 8:                
Proceed to the School of Law Dean’s Office and submit accomplished enrollment Guideline Forms for enrollment proper.

Step 9:            
Accomplish Student’s Personal Data Sheet (if updates are necessary) and enrollment Form for Returnee Student and submit it to the School of Law Dean’s Office.

Proceed to the Cashier (located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad) to pay the enrollment fee.

Step 12:          
Proceed to the Electronic Data Processing (EDP) Department (located at the Ground Floor of UC Banilad) for the encoding of schedule and the issuance of the corresponding study load.

Step 13:          
Proceed to the Library (located at the Third Floor of UC Banilad) for the validation of any existing school identification card or re-issuance of a new school identification card.

Step 14:          
Submit the accomplished Personal Data Sheet Form at the School of Law Dean’s Office.


TRANSFEREE
A “transfer student” is a student who wishes to enroll in the University after having been enrolled in another law school.  Former law students returning to the University after having enrolled in other educational institutions are also considered transfer students. Transfer students must possess all the qualifications required for a UC law student to continue his or her studies in the School of Law, otherwise, his or her application for transfer shall be denied.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Letter of Intent to transfer

Original copy of Honorable Dismissal /Transfer Credential

Original copy of Official Transcript of Records (TOR)

Original copy of Good Moral Character (last school attended)

Original copy of the Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA)

Original copy of the Marriage Certificate with Affidavit of Change of Name
(If the married female applicant’s TOR is under her maiden name) issued by the Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA)

GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES FOR ADMISSION
